The Winner is:

The Time Meddler

There was another tie between The Aztecs and The Time Meddler. I needed to call in the official final round tie-breaking judge Robert Franks to sort this out. After he carefully weighed all the options, the pros and cons if you will, he made his decision. In his regards to his decision, Robert is quoted as saying �People should know the reasons these stories are great. Fuck Peter Butterworth, we all know the real guest star.� Indeed. She is one of my all-time favourite actresses and was taken from us too soon.

Here is how voting broke down:

The Time Meddler: 14 votes (10 of these votes from the tie round + Robert pick as tie-breaker)

The Aztecs: 13 votes (10 of these votes from the tie round)

An Unearthly Child: 9 votes (6 of these votes from the tie round)

Marco Polo: 2 votes (do you two know something I don�t?)

Why I am happy The Time Meddler was chosen: I love this story. I love the opening shot in the TARDIS that still feels new to me but had been re-instated over 20 years ago. I love the visuals on the cliff with the clouds moving overhead. I think Hartnell is at his greatest in Season 2. I feel every line he delivers, he delivers like sheer poetry. Just like a chair with a panda on it!

The story I would have picked: This is why I love this idea of having other people choose the stories for this marathon. I tend to go to the old standbys. I would have probably chosen The Daleks because I can never get enough of the first four episodes of this story.

Voting for the Troughton story opens later today. I am having a blast with this and I hope you continue to take part in choosing the stories for me to watch.
